Victor Boniface Inspires Royale Union SG to narrow win over leaders KRC Genk

Victor Boniface followed up his sublime performance against Union Berlin in the Europa League, with another great show at KRC Genk on Sunday’s Jupiler League match.
The Nigerian proved he still had the juice from last week; which led to being voted the UEFA Europa League player of the week, by guiding Union Saint-Gilloise to a 2-1 win over league leaders KRC Genk at the Cegeka Arena.
The 22 year-old assisted Union Saint-Gilloise winning goal scored by Ivorian star Simon Adingra.
The forward now has seven goals and five assists in twenty six matches for the Europa League campaigners.
Bart Nieuwkoop got the other goals for the visitors, while Bryan Heynen got Genk’s only goal of the game.
Meanwhile Yira Sor was given a cameo appearance by Genk’s boss Wouter Vrancken.
The victory means, Union Saint-Gilloise reduced Genk’s lead on the table to just five points.
