Manchester United have dismissed Erik ten Hag as manager, appointing their former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as interim head coach.
The decision to axe ten Hag came following Man United’s 2-1 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium over the weekend.
Despite signing a contract extension this summer, Erik ten Hag struggled to deliver results, with the team enduring a difficult start to the season, securing only four points from their first 14 games.
The 54 year-old leaves United in 14th place in the Premier League, ending his two-and-a-half-year tenure at the club.
Van Nistelrooy is expected to serve as a short-term solution while the club searches for a permanent replacement.
