Francis Uzoho has apologized to Nigerians, following his error in the FIFA World Cup qualification playoff against Ghana.
The Super Eagles failed in their bid to qualify for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup after playing 1-1 with the Black Stars of Ghana in the second leg at home .
Ghana secured the ticket on away goals rule, no thanks to Uzoho fumbling Thomas Partey’s shot which proved decisive.
The former Deportivo la Coruna shot-stoper has now tendered an apology to fans of the Super Eagles and vowed to make them smile in the future.
“The past couple of days have been worst of my life,” the Goalkeeper posted on social media.
“I wanted to take my Nation to Qatar, but I did the opposite. I know what football means to you all and to me. I can’t promise not to make this mistake again, but I can promise, I won’t give up, until I bring back the smiles on your faces .”
