Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Email Super Eagles’ first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabili says Francis Uzoho was unfairly treated by the fans and media. Uzoho endured heavy criticism before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations, following series of errors. The Omonia Nicosia’s shot stopper was subsequently replaced by Nwabili just a week into the tournament. However, the former Katsina United and Wikki Tourists goalie showed support for Uzoho. “Francis is a good guy and I don’t know why they talk about him. It was unfair, to be honest. He deserves better,” Nwabili told BBC Africa. “It’s our first time working together – he is good.” Stanley Nwabili was in between the sticks for Nigeria’s first two games at the AFCON, and he was impressive. “When the coach believes in you, you bring more confidence with you into the team,” he continued. “I feel like I can do more to bring that confidence into the team. I don’t feel like Nigeria has seen my top performance.”
