In a recent statement, Abdallah expressed regret over the situation, acknowledging the embarrassment it caused Paul Offor.

The former Enyimba head coach replaced Paul Offor at Pillars

“I’ve been away from Kano for a long time, but every season there have been calls for me to return. This time, I was there, but it was unfortunate that there was a misunderstanding. The old chairman’s actions put Offor in a difficult position,” Abdallah explained.

He clarified why Paul Offor’s dismissal had nothing to do with ethnic bigotry.

“People are spreading rumors that because Offor isn’t Hausa, that’s why he was replaced. But that’s not true. The situation was simply unfortunate. I was supposed to be unveiled the day after Offor was, and the timing just led to confusion.”

Abdallah expressed his sympathy for Offor, stating, “I’m sorry for the boy. I even offered him to stay and work with us, but he opted not to for personal reasons, which I fully respect and understand.”

The experienced coach emphasized that the incident was not intended to undermine Offor, but was rather a result of poor communication and timing, which he hopes will not tarnish the reputation of either coach, the administration of the club and the government of the state.
