Former Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama has described the passing of Athletics coach Adu Uremo as a big loss to Athletics in Nigeria because of his passion and drive towards developing and churning out athletes for Nigeria.
Nesiama speaking in a chat with www.brila.net described the through Grassroots inclined coach as a calm and calculated Athletics coach who has tutored a number of highly successful coach notably among many Africa 100m record holder Olusoji Fasuba and says he will be missed greatly for his effort in this regard.
“Very sad development I felt very bad. He is one of the very calm calculated and focussed coach. I had very good dealings with him even as Technical director as an athlete manager licensed by the world athletics.
His athletes were many if the athletes we were able to take for international competitions and did well and we have big hopes to even continue to build on that relationship with him in the interest of the country but unfortunately he is gone. So it’s a very sad development and a big loss to the Nigeria Athletics family. “
