Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers will return to Genk for next season, the Belgian side has confirmed.
The move brought an end to the transfer negotiation, between Genk and Feyenoord.
Feyenoord had until June 1 to exercise their right to sign the player permanently, but Genk’s asking price proved to be a stumbling block.
Genk slammed a 4 million euros asking price on the player and, it was already suspected that Feyenoord would not match the figure…
“Feyenoord has officially informed our club this afternoon that it will not cancel the purchase option of Cyriel Dessers “, Racing Genk said.
“This means that Cyriel will rejoin KRC Genk in preparation. We wish Cyriel good luck with the international competitions and are looking forward to seeing you again in blue and white.”
“We look forward to a warm reunion in blue and white.”
Dessers joined Feryernood on a season-long loan last summer and scored 21 goals in 41 matches for the Arse Slot’s men.
