Unai Emery happy with Alex Iwobi’s development at Arsenal

Arsenal manager Unai Emery says he is happy with the development of Alex Iwobi this season but revealed that the young winger must work hard to reach his potential.

Iwobi has scored two goals and contributed three assists in his last 10 appearances for the club so far this season and fight off competition from Mesut Ozil to be a constant name on Emery’s team list.

“I am very happy and I think he is working a lot for improving and he has energy, he has quality, he has things to improve. But he can do that,” Emery told Arsenal’s official website.

“For us, we have to be demanding with him and he himself being demanding to improve the things that he can get better at in his qualities.

” When he’s getting into the attacking third, into the box, to be calm to decide the last action with assist and scoring more.

“But he is giving us a lot of attacking moments and opening space for other players when they are arriving to the ball.”

Meanwhile, Iwobi will be assessed ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth after picking a knock before he was substituted in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Southampton at the Emirates on Sunday.
