Umar Sadiq Vows to Help Relegation-Battling Valencia Turn Their Season Around

Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq has expressed his determination to make an impact at LaLiga side Valencia following his six-month loan move from Real Sociedad.

The 27-year-old completed the switch on Saturday morning and was unveiled later that day at the Ciudad Deportiva in Paterna. Valencia holds the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

During his unveiling, Sadiq revealed his motivation for joining Los Ches.

“First of all, to come here. On the first day he (the coach) explained everything to me. He told me how much he believed in me and I saw what Valencia needed, which was the same as what I wanted,” Sadiq said.

He highlighted the shared hunger between himself and the club as a major factor in his decision.

“There was a coincidence between Valencia and me because I was very hungry and I saw that Valencia was too, and that made me come here.

It is not a normal situation for Valencia, but as I said, the hunger they have as I saw at Mestalla, it was bad luck that they did not get points.”

A Fresh Start

Sadiq’s time at Real Sociedad was challenging scoring four goals in 35 league appearances.

He struggled to find consistency in the highly competitive squad.

“All players need continuity and I haven’t had the continuity I needed at Real. There are many players in my position.

The coaches make their decisions and I respect them, but I have to keep moving. I hope to give my best and I also hope for the best for Real.”

Valencia’s Fight for Survival

Sadiq joins a Valencia side currently battling relegation, sitting 19th in the LaLiga table. His arrival is seen as a boost to their attacking options as they aim to climb out of the danger zone.

With Sadiq’s hunger to prove himself and Valencia’s determination to turn their season around, both player and club hope for a successful partnership in the months ahead.
