Real Sociedad’s winless streak extended to four matches after the 1-0 defeat to Mallorca in La Liga on Tuesday night, but a bigger concern was Umar Sadiq’s bench role.
Umar Sadiq was once again an unused substitute for Sociedad, continuing his tough start to the season.
Sadiq, who was last seen in action during Sociedad’s 2-0 home loss to Real Madrid, has yet to find the back of the net this campaign after four league appearances.
The 27-year-old was substituted off in the 63rd minute in that game against Madrid and hasn’t featured since.
Mallorca secured victory thanks to a 36th-minute goal from Abdon Prats, with Sociedad unable to respond.
This result leaves Sociedad in 16th place with just four points from six games, while Mallorca climbed to sixth with eight points.
Sociedad will be hoping to bounce back soon, as their early-season form has left them dangerously close to the relegation zone.
