20-year-old Nigerian Striker, Umar Sadiq was an unused substitute in AS Roma’s 3-2 victory against Tottenham in a friendly early on Wednesday amidst reports he’s on the verge of a loan move to Crotone.
According to Italian online news outlet, footballitalia, Serie A side Crotone are close to securing a loan deal for Sadiq.
The forward spent the last six months at Bologna, but managed only seven Serie A appearances after an injury that kept him sidelined for months.
Last week the player scored for AS Roma, coming off the bench for Edin Džeko in the Giallorossi’s pre season friendly against Paris Saint-Germain.
Sadiq had hoped to impress new Manager, Eusebio Di Francesco in pre-season and get perhaps get a spot on the squad for this season.
However, according to Sky Sport Italia, Crotone are in advanced negotiations to take the Nigerian on loan.
He played for Nigeria at the 2016 Olympics, scoring four goals in six games.
