Sadiq Umar is not under pressure to displace Victor Osimhen or Odion Ighalo, but just want his time in the National team.
Umar is one of the strikers that benefitted from Victor Osimhen and Odion Ighalo’s absence from the Afcon last January as led the line for the Super Eagles along side Taiwo Awoniyi.
With Ighalo and Osimhen returning for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ghana later this , the 25-year-old striker is likely to fall behind in the pecking order.
“You know, both of them [Osimhen and Ighalo] are top players,” Sadiq told Omasports. “They’ve already shown it.
“Even Victor [Osimhen] is still showing it and that’s what the country needs- players like him and also like Odion.
“They give a lot to the country and I’m just trying to go there and enjoy myself with them and I’m looking forward to that.” He said .
Sadiq Umar who has scored 13 goals for Almeria this season made his professional debut for Super Eagles against Pharaoh of Egypt in January.
He scored his first professional goal for the three time African Champions against Equitorial Guinea in February.
He scored the goal in the 56th minutes when tapped home from close range after Kelechi Iheanacho has done a very good job.
