Ademola Lookman delivered an impressive performance on Wednesday night during Atalanta’s UEFA Super Cup clash against Real Madrid, despite his side falling to a 2-0 defeat.

The Nigerian forward was a constant menace to Real Madrid’s defense, showcasing his skill and speed throughout the match.

Lookman came close to breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute, but Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger executed a crucial recovery to deny the opportunity.

Lookman, who was instrumental in Atalanta’s Europa League final run, found himself up against Real Madrid’s formidable attacking trio of Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and Kylian Mbappé.

Despite his best efforts, the match took a decisive turn in the second half.

Madrid opened the scoring in the 59th minute when Federico Valverde found the back of the net following a precise assist from Vinicius Jr.

The Spanish giants then doubled their lead as Mbappé marked his competitive debut for Madrid with a goal, securing the victory and the Super Cup title.

Lookman and his Atalanta teammates will now turn their focus to the upcoming UEFA Champions League, where they will aim to make a solid impact when the competition kicks off in a few weeks.
