Bright Osayi-Samuel played a key role for Fenerbahce as they secured a 4-3 victory over Swiss club Lugano in the UEFA Champions League second-round first-leg tie on Tuesday.
Osayi-Samuel started the match and was an important figure in the game for over an hour before Jose Mourinho made a tactical change, substituting the Fullback in the 68th minute.
Former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick for Fenerbahce. Lugano initially took the lead through Ayman El Wafi in the 4th minute.
However, Dzeko equalized in first-half stoppage time and added another goal shortly after halftime to put Fenerbahce ahead 2-1.
Uran Bislimi brought Lugano level again in the 64th minute, but Dzeko completed his hat-trick just three minutes later, restoring Fenerbahce’s lead.
Ferdi Kadioglu extended the lead to 4-2 in the 74th minute. Lugano’s Milton Valenzuela scored a late goal in the 94th minute, ending the match at 4-3.
