UCL Final: Sadio Mane Sends ₦7.8 million worth of Liverpool Jerseys to his Village

Senegal and Liverpool Star, Sadio Mane will have his entire village back home cheering and supporting with extra motivation when he takes to the field against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday.

Mane who has forged an incredible partnership with Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Brazil’s Roberto Firmino in the Reds’ attack line will be chasing a European glory in Kyiv and sent 300 Liverpool jerseys home to give his kinsmen a feel of the competition.

At £55 per home shirt, Mane would have dolled out £16,500; over 12 million Senegalese CFA Francs and the equivalent of over ₦7.8 million.

For a player who currently earns £90,000 per week, it is a very rich gesture.
The forward, who is also expected to lead the Teranga Lions in Russia for the FIFA 2018 World Cup, spoke ahead of Saturday’s final and said, “I will be going back in the summer after the World Cup and hopefully I will be showing everyone a winner’s medal.”
As per, The Guardian Mane said, “Nobody in the village will work this day. My family still live in the village. My mum and my uncle. They are all going to be watching. There are 2,000 in the village. I bought 300 Liverpool jerseys to send to the people in the village so the fans can wear them to watch the final.”
