U20 AFCON: Nigeria not under pressure to beat Gambia — Bameyi

Nigeria U20 MNT defender Daniel Bameyi has reiterated the importance of the team’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash against Gambia.
The Flying Eagles are bidding for their 8th U20 AFCON title, and will face Gambian in Alexandria, Bameyi stated that the team isn’t under pressure to admits it’s an important game.
Both sides are through to the 2023 FIFA World Cup, but an opportunity to play in the final of the ongoing tournament in Egypt is up for grabs.
“The match is important for us and winning is very important. We want to win and take the trophy back to our country,” the defender said.
“We are not under any pressure, we enjoy every match and go into each match with new energy and motivation.”
The Nigerian team are the most successful side in the history of the tournament, lifting the trophy on seven different occasions.
