U17 WWCQ: Olowookere Optimistic Ahead of Crucial Burkina Faso Clash

Bankole Olowookere has expresses confidence in his team’s ability to advance to the final qualifying round of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, despite a 1-1 draw against Burkina Faso in the first leg.

Nigeria was held to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso in the first leg in Bamako last week, and with the crucial reverse fixture set to take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja this Saturday, all eyes are on Olowookere’s team to go one better.

“The Flamingos will be ready to do the nation proud by winning to reach the last round of the qualification series,” Olowookere told thenff.com.

“I have the players to do the job. All we are asking for is support from the stands. Our objective is to not only win the ticket, but to go to the World Cup and surpass our last outing of third-place finish in India in 2022.”

Should the Flamingos emerge victorious against Burkina Faso, they will be on course for the final qualifying fixture of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The winner of this fixture will secure a spot in the prestigious tournament.
