The Nigeria U17 team on Saturday played a 1-1 draw with Uganda in the U17 AFCON 2019 to finish as group A winners and also qualify for the U17 world cup coming up later this year in Brazil.
According to the U17 technical adviser Nduka Ugbade to Brila.net “the last time we played we were knocked out by Niger republic in Niger but our first objective was to pick up a ticket for the qualification for cup of nation and now we are in the cup of nation which we did and that was our second objective”.
”The third is getting to the finals of the cup of nations which myself and Manu lost some years back in Morocco, this time around we need to do all our possible best to ensure we get to the finals and win it, we will be playing Guinea in our next game and they are a strong side and most of the strong teams are out the likes of Senegal and Morocco as well”.
Playing Guinea is a match that we would love so much to play to help us improve our playing style but I believe we will get there” he concludes.
Nigeria will be playing guinea on Wednesday 24th in semi-finals of the U17 AFCON.
