Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor Kulübü have submitted a €6 million bid for Southampton’s Nigerian striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu.
The 30-year-old forward was on loan from the Saints to Trabzonspor last season, where he impressed.
After his loan spell ended, the Super Eagles striker is keen to continue his career under Abdullah Mucib Avcı.
Reports indicate that Trabzonspor have made a club-record offer of €6 million for Onuachu, along with a 25% sell-on clause.
However, this is below Southampton’s €10 million asking price, and they are unwilling to accept anything less.
Onuachu did not join Trabzonspor’s pre-season training camp in Hungary, nevertheless, sports director Abdullah Avcı mentioned that it is not “a major issue, and the club will carefully manage the player’s transfer.”
“The centre-forward does not necessarily have to be with us in the first week,” he maintained.
“The important thing is to bring the right player to the team in the right way and at the right time.”
Last season, Onuachu netted 17 goals and provided 4 assists in 26 appearances for Trabzonspor.
