Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong apologized to Udinese fans for his celebration during Saturday’s league game.
Ekong was in action as Salernitana recorded a 3-2 come back win over his former side, Udinese, in their final match of the season.
It was his first appearance against Udinese since leaving for Watford in 2019.
Ekong however scored the winning goal and surprisingly celebrated in front of Udinese fans.
The CB volleyed home the winning goal against his former club deep into stoppage time.
“This one meant so much for so many reasons that I couldn’t contain myself. Udinese 1896 always has a special place in my heart and I’m forever grateful”, the defender Tweeted.
“These are the emotions I dreamt of experiencing as a young boy scoring a last minute winner, What a special day in our Stadio Arechi to share with my teammates and everyone involved.”
