Nigeria and Salernitana CB, William Troost-Ekong has backed his Countryman, Victor Osimhen to lift the Serie A title with Napoli this season.
The Luciano Spalletti side bounced back from second defeat of the campaign to Lazio to thrash Atalanta 2-0 on Sunday.
Following the victory, Napoli now hold an 18-point lead on the table after 26 games, with the Nigerian striker netting 19 goals in 22 league games.
“Victor is doing well and It’s a very important year for him, he can win the Scudetto, and then he’ll be able to think about the future,” he was quoted as saying by Sports Italia.
Troost-Ekong also believes Osimhen is the best striker in the world at the moment.
“Osimhen is probably the best striker in the world right now. I am happy for him because he has overcome difficult moments,”.
Ekong, 29, is currently on loan at Salernitana in the Italian Serie A.
