Super Falcons player, Toni Payne played a key role as Everton Women secured a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa Women in the English Women’s Super League (WSL) on Sunday.
Payne, who started the match, contributed to Everton’s defensive solidity, helping her side keep a clean sheet before being substituted in the 81st minute.
Maren Mjelde opened the scoring for Everton in the 16th minute, while Honoka Hayashi doubled the lead in the 59th minute to seal the win.

Despite late pressure from Aston Villa, including attempts from Ebony Salmon and Rachel Daly, Everton’s defense stood firm to claim their fourth win of the season.
The victory lifts Everton to eighth place in the WSL standings with 16 points. They will look to build on this result in their next league fixture.
