Tokyo Olympics: Ese Brume wins Nigeria’s first medal in Long jump

Team Nigeria’s Ese Brume has won Nigeria’s first medal at the Tokyo2020 Olympics as she finished third in the women’s long jump finals.

Brume leapt 6.97 metres to claim bronze behind American Brittany Reece and gold medallist Malaika Mihambo of Germany.

 

Brume became Nigeria’s only athlete in the jumps, foll the disqualification of Ruth Usoro by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).

 

She was also Nigeria’s only medalist at the last World Championship in Doha.
