World record holder Tobi Amusan has been chosen to be Nigeria’s flagbearer of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Opening ceremony.
This is a historic moment in Nigerian athletics, as Amusan is the first track and field athlete to receive this honor in two decades.

The 100m hurdles champion will lead Team Nigerian during the parade of nations during the opening ceremony.
Her announcement follows in the footsteps of Mary Onyali, who was the last track and field athlete to hold this honor – back at the Athens 2004 Games.
