Tobi Amusan, the world record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, failed to advance to the final after finishing third in her semi-final heat.
Amusan clocked a time of 12.55 seconds in Heat 1, which was the ninth fastest overall, narrowly missing out on qualification.
The 27-year-old former World Champion had hoped to secure a spot in the final through one of the fastest qualifying times but fell short.
Despite being a four-time Olympian, She has yet to win an Olympic medal.
