Tobi Amusan Eyes Medal at 2024 Paris Olympics

World 100m hurdles record holder Tobi Amusan is confident of securing a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Despite missing out on medals in the previous two editions—in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020—Amusan’s determination remains unshaken.

At the Tokyo Games, Amusan reached the finals and finished fourth. Now, at 27, she is among the top contenders in Paris, having qualified for the semifinals.

She clocked an impressive 12.49 seconds in the first round, outpacing USA’s Alaysha Johnson (12.61 seconds) and Jamaica’s Janeek Brown (12.84 seconds).

Reflecting on her journey, Amusan said, “The first time I came as an Olympian, I was like 18/19, the second time I think I was a little bit experienced and I didn’t get on the podium. This time I think, it’s my season.” She said.

Her confident performance and upbeat spirit mark her as a strong contender for a medal as she advances to her third consecutive Olympic semifinal.
