Two-time African Champions Enyimba FC now have a very steep mountain to climb, when they visit Al Hilal in Sudan for the second-leg first round CAF Champions League clash.
Enyimba were held to a 0-0 draw by the visiting Sudanese club in Aba on Sunday.
The NPFL champions created enormous chances, but were wasteful as coach Usman Abd’allah’s side failed to breach the opponent’s, despite having numerical advantage for over 60 minutes.
With the setback, the NPFL side must now get a score draw or outright win to advance in the competition.
Enyimba won the CAF Champions League back to back in 2003 and 2004 season and are hoping to become the only Nigerian club side to win again since then.
