They are not helping us! Ese Brume slams AFN, Sports ministry

Nigeria’s only medalist at the just concluded World Athletics Championship in Doha, Ese Brume has berated the sports ministry and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria over poor management of athletes.

She stated this after winning Nigeria’s first medal at the world championships in six years.

“I want to say to the ministry of Sports and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) that they should try and support us because they are not helping.”

“God has made it possible for me and I believe that by the grace of God he will make it possible for others at well. I want them to improve their support for us because they are not helping us at all”, she concluded.

Brume leaped to a 6.91 mark (+0.3 wind) in her second attempt and was beaten by an inch to miss out on Silver to Ukraine’s Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk (6.92).

Ese has followed the footsteps of Blessing Okagbare who clinched silver medal six years ago at the 14th edition of the World Championship in Moscow.
