Benin Republic head coach Gernot Rohr has stated that there is more to playing against his former team the Super Eagles of Nigeria than results after been drawn in the same World cup qualifying group as Nigeria in the bid to ensure qualification for the 2026 FIFA world cup.
The Franco -German manager speaking in a chat with www.brila.net revealed that there is more in the eventual head to head meeting between his new team Benin Republic and former side Nigeria who had enjoyed two legged victories against the Squirrels before failing to secure the ticket for the 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar after falling short against Ghana shortly after the departure of Gernot Rohr.
Rohr said he can’t wait to meet with his former players and reacquaint himself once again with old friends he had made over time while in charge of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
