Super Falcons interim coach, Justin Madugu has described forward Folashade Ijamilusi as a future superstar for the team.
Ijamilusi inspired the Super Falcons to a 4-1 victory over Algeria in Tuesday’s friendly match.
The striker got her first in the 12th minute and added another just seven minutes later, before sealing the win with her third goal in the 86th minute.
Coach Madugu was effusive in his praise for the 24-year-old striker, recognizing her talent and versatility.
“Ijamilusi Folashade has been a good player. Anybody that has been following our league knows that she has been one of the top scorers in the league over the years.”
Madugu highlighted Ijamilusi’s adaptability, noting her ability to perform in various roles on the field.
“She only needed an opportunity, which she got, and then she utilized it. She’s a versatile player that can play in different positions.”
“She can play from the outside left position or central position, and then she was able to score the goals.”
“Naturally, you will be happy that when you give players opportunities like this, they do well. You know that, yes, you have also contributed something to their own development,” he concluded.
