At the team’s arrival in Pretoria following their exit, Tshabalala acknowledged Edo Queens’ determination, saying, “They showed character, they showed that they wanted more.”

Tshabalala further admitted that Sundowns could have done better, but saw the match as an opportunity for growth.
“Disappointing performance from the team, but I think first half we executed the plan very well,” he said, adding, “Unfortunately, the Europeans also showed character, they showed that they wanted more.”

“We ended up defending too deep and we even tried to adjust technically in terms of the system that we played.”
Despite the defeat, Tshabalala commended his players’ effort.

“The girls fought for this game, they gave their all, but we didn’t defend nicely as a team. They even had a penalty, which we indeed did well and saved the penalty. One-on-one with the keeper, the crossbar… I think it wasn’t to be for us.”
