Terem Moffi netted two goals to propel OGC Nice to a commanding 2-0 triumph over Lens in a thrilling Ligue 1 clash at the Allianz Riviera on Wednesday.

Moffi has struggled for fitness in recent days, and missed last weekend’s defeat but returned to the bench for the match against Lens.

The Super Eagles forward however made a spectacular impact, after he was introduced, scoring from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.

Just two minutes later, Moffi secured his brace with a skillful header into an empty net, capitalizing on Jérémie Boga’s precise pass.

The 24-year-old brings his season goal tally to six in 16 appearances in the highly competitive Ligue 1.

His return to action will come as a relief for national team head coach, Jose Peseiro ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

The forward has been named in the provisional squad for the tournament, starting 13th January 2024.
