Former Super Eagles captain Austin Okocha has expressed cautious optimism about Nigeria’s chances at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria will make a sixth appearance at the World Cup in Russia, but have not progressed beyond the second round.
Speaking about setting a target for Nigeria at the tournament in Russia, Okocha believes expectations must be reasonably set; insisting ‘fans should be patient enough to see the team scale through the group stage hurdle first.’
Speaking with Brila.net Okocha further said he hopes the players would relish the opportunity to impress and make a statement at the world cup.
