It was a decent start for Team Nigeria at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
The day started with Chukwuebuka Enekwechi qualifying for the final of men’s Shot Put event of the Championship.
Enekwechi threw a big 20.87m on his 2nd attempt and finishing 4th in Group A of men’s qualification rounds.
Another Nigerian, Dotun Ogundeji missed out of place in the final, as he finished bottom of group B – Ogundeji threw 18.35m.
In the World Athletics Championship track event, Favour Ashe and Raymond Ekevwo made it to the semi finals of the men’s 100m.
As he qualified from his heat with 10.00s, while Raymond Ekevwo ran 10.17s.
However the Mixed 4×400 relay came 6th in the Final.
