Team Nigeria’s Para Badminton team had an impressive start on the opening day of the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Mariam Eniola Bolaji dominated her first match in the women’s SL3 event, defeating India’s Mandeep Kaur in straight sets, 2-0 (21-8, 21-14).

Meanwhile, in the men’s SL4 event, Chigozie Jeremiah Nnanna secured a solid 2-0 (21-12, 21-15) victory over Germany’s Marcel Adam.

Both athletes will look to build on their strong performances in the group stages on Friday, August 30th.

Bolaji is set to compete against Australia’s Celine Aurelie Vinot, while Nnanna will take on Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan in the Paralympics tournament.
