Victor Boniface fired blank as Bayer Leverkusen were forced to a goalless result by Stuttgart in Friday’s Bundesliga match at the Bay Arena.
Boniface started the match, making his 9th league appearance of the campaign, but the forward was tamed by Stuttgart’s defence.
The 23 year-old who has 6 goals already this season for the defending champions, failed to score for the first time in four league games.
Despite Leverkusen dominating the encounter, Xabi Alonso’s men couldn’t find a way past the visitor.
Even the introduction of Nathan Tella (86′) did not impact the match as Alonso would have hoped.
Leverkusen settled for a point, but moved one spot to third in the standings – having played one game more than fourth placed Union Berlin.
