Talk is cheap! Oshoala Fires Back At Yaya Toure over Super Eagles AFCON Comment

Super Falcons and Barcelona Femeni forward, Asisat Oshoala has fired back at Ivorian football legend, Yaya Toure over his stance that Nigeria will not go beyond the group stage at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Yaya Toure had tipped his home country and Guinea Bissau to go through from Group A, which also houses Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea.

The 2015 AFCON Winner opined that the Super Eagles will not make it out of the group which raised eye-brows.

However, Asisat Oshoala countered the Ivorian’s views.

“Talk is cheap, when we get to the tournament, we will separate the boys from the men,” Oshoala said to BRL.

“Why not, we have the almighty Osimhen, the best player in Africa, we have Boniface doing well at club level. I feel like we have a good team, it’s not about individual talent.

“I feel like we have a good team and we have enough time to build up towards the tournament.”

Nigeria will kick start their AFCON campaign when they play Equatorial Guinea on the 14th of January, a day after the opening ceremony of the tournament.
