In form Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi has been included in German Bundesliga team of the week.

Awoniyi guided his Club Union Berlin to a 2-1 win over former team Mainz 05 at the Mewa Arena on Sunday.

The former Liverpool of England scored twice in the second half to give Union Berlin a 2-1 comeback victory over their hosts.

The Nigerian is appearing in the team of the week for the second time after brilliant start to the 2021-2022 campaign.

Awoniyi joins Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Breel Embolo and Patrik Schik as the three strikers on the list.

He has scored five times in the Bundesliga and eight in all competitions for the Urs Fischer’s side this season.
