Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has condemned the mistreatment of the Nigerian national team, who have been stranded at a Libyan airport without access to food, water, or basic facilities for over 12 hours.
The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that the Super Eagles will not proceed with their scheduled Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya, originally set for Tuesday.
Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has condemned the ongoing situation in Libya, where the Nigerian team has reportedly been held at the airport for more than 12 hours under difficult conditions.
CB, Leon Balogun has called on the Confederation of African Football to investigate the detention of Super Eagles players and team officials in Libya, following an incident at Al Abaq Airport where they were held for over ten hours.
The upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Nigeria and Libya, scheduled for Tuesday, is now in jeopardy due to complications surrounding the Nigerian team’s arrival in Libya.
