Nigeria cricket team suffers third successive defeat, miss out on world cup ticket
Nigeria cricket team lost their third consecutive game against Oman at the ongoing T20 World Cup qualifiers, ending hopes of qualifying for the T-20 world cup.
Nigeria U19 Cricket Team defeated hosts Namibia in the opening encounter of the Africa Division 1. ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifiers played at the Wanderers Cricket Stadium Windhoek, Namibia on Sunday.
It was a game many thought the Namibians would win but Nigeria had a near perfect game as they scored a total of 129 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs.
Samuel Mba was the catalyst for the young Nigerian side as he scored 25 Runs off 100 balls to lead the team to great win, Miracle Ikaigbe and Emmanuel Boniface also contributed 22 Runs off 48 balls and 19 Runs off 31 balls respectively.
The Namibians struggled all day as they watched Nigeria overrun them with a score of 77 runs in 32.3 overs in the second innings.
Captain of the Junior Yellow Greens, Sylvester Okpe was named Man of the Match Award after he recorded bowling figures of 3 wickets for 16 runs in 7 overs and helped Nigeria to win by 52 runs.
