Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has bewailed the People’s Elephants CAF Confederation cup exit after losing 2-0 in Conakry to Horoya AC of Guinea.
Enyimba FC midfielder Dare Olatunji has stated that the People’s Elephants remain unperturbed by the 1-1 first leg result played out last Sunday against Horoya AC of Guinea in the first leg quarter final CAF Confederation cup.
Horoya FC forward Bolaji Sakin says he is confident Horoya will overcome Enyimba in the second leg of the CAF confederation cup game against when the both team will square up in Guinea.
Enyimba coach Fatai Osho has attributed the 1-1 first leg CAF confederation cup tie against Horoya FC on Injuries sustained by some key players.
Horoya AC of Guinea Nigerian striker Bolaji Sakin has stated that he will reveal his little knowledge of Enyimba to his Guinean teammates ahead of this Sunday’s CAF Confederation cup quarter final first leg between both side at the Enyimba stadium on Sunday.
Sakin speaking in a chat with brila.net said he is aware that Enyimba is a mcuh changed team compared to what they were when he was in Nigeria but that he still knows most of the players in the Enyimba team as players he has played against while in Nigeria and believes this will come in handy for his side when they play against the People’s Elephant.
“What I know about Enyimba is just little, I know they have changed a lot of their players that I don’t really know since I left Nigeria. Some were not in Enyimba but I know most of them so I know what information I will give to my coach so that we work on that.
He is also an expert in continental football and knows what to do to get the right information.”
Guinean Champions Horoya FC have stepped up their final preparation for their CAF Confederation Cup quarter final first leg with Enyimba of Aba.
Enyimba international Aba midfielder Austin Oladapo has stated that the team is in top shape ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup game with Horoya FC of Guinea.
Horoya FC striker, Simeon Bolaji Sakin says he hopes his team can draw Nigeria representative Lobi Stars and giants, Al Ahly in Friday’s CAF Champions League group stage draw.
Sakin scored twice in the second leg as Horoya FC of Guinea overturned a 3-0 first leg defeat to secure a 6-5 victory on aggregate over Libya‘s Al Nasr and booked their place in the group stage of the African biggest football club competition.
Ahead of the Friday draw, Sakin said he hopes to face Al Ahly and Lobi Stars of Makurdi.
“I am anxiously waiting for the Friday draw and I will like us to be paired against Al Ahly and Lobi Stars and another team,”
“I want Al Ahly again because they were the one that stopped us from proceeding to the semi-final after they beat us in the quarter final stage. It was a painful loss and we will like to meet them again to take our revenge.
“I am hoping that we play against Lobi Stars too because it will enable me to visit home again and to also take my teammates to my house. Lobi Stars beat their opponent from Kenya, Gor Mahia and they must be a good side too.”
Sakin joined Horoya FC two seasons ago but before then he played for Abia Warriors and Rivers United in the Nigeria professional football league.
