Super Falcons defender, Toni Payne has expressed that the Super Falcons are ready to give all it takes for them to be at next year’s Olympic Games.

Currently tied 1-1 against The Lucy’s of Ethiopia after the first leg of the qualifiers, the Super Falcons will aim for victory as confidence booster.

The team that progresses to the next round will face the winner between Cameroon and Uganda, with the latter holding a 2-0 advantage after the first leg.

With only two Olympic tickets alotted to Africa for the women’s football event, Payne indicated that the squad is ready to end the current hiatus of 12 years.

The Super Falcons’ last appearance at the event was as far back as 2008, missing three events in that time.

“We know the task at hand is to qualify for the next round of the Olympic qualifiers,” she said to Brila FM.

It’s been a long time since the Super Falcons have played in that tournament and so going into this next game we know what we have to do which is simply to win the match and by any means necessary we’re ready to do that.”
