Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum is optimistic the team will cope with the absence of some key players for the game against Zambia.
Nigeria will battle Shepolopolo of Zambia in the third place playoff at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca.
The nine-time Champions will miss the services of Halimatu Ayinde and Rasheedat Ajibade due to suspension, while CB Onome Ebi and reigning African player of the year Asisat Oshoala are both out due to injury.
Speaking at the post match conference, Waldrum expects his side to cope without the players.
“We have two players suspended as a result of red cards in the last game, and we also have some players down with injury,” Randy Waldrum explained in his pre-match presser.
“So, there will be changes but we will go for the best legs that would give us victory on Friday.”
The Falcons failed in their bid to win 10th African title in Morocco, but did enough to qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
