Former Super Falcons player, Ikunwa Igunbor-Sowemimo has sent congratulatory messages the way of Nigeria’s senior women national team ahead of their CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament third-round game against Ivory Coast women.

The ex-Nigeria International also highlighted the quality in the Falcons team and believes the players have the necessary experience to take the win and pick the Olympic ticket ahead of the Cote d’Ivoire women’s team.

“Every African nation wants to play and dent the falcons’ record on the continent, but we should not lose focus and play according to plan and instruction of the coach with that we will come out victorious”

In a chat with brila.net, she called on the Nigeria football federation and government to increase the level of support of the women’s team.

“Nigeria will overcome the Ivorians today, but moving forward the team deserves and need more encouragement, also friendly matches to discover the best legs that will represent us eventually at the olympics”
