Super Falcons vs Algeria Second Leg Friendly Game-Time Adjusted

Nigeria will take on Algeria in the second leg of their international friendly series on Tuesday, with the kickoff rescheduled for 2 PM at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, instead of the previously advertised 4pm start.

The earlier kickoff allows the Algerian team to commence their return journey that night.

According to Dayo Enebi Achor, NFF’s Head of International Competitions, “The adjustment is to allow the Algerian delegation to complete preparations for their journey to Murtala Muhammed Airport for their return trip on Qatar Airways.”

The friendlies were arranged by the NFF as part of a rebuilding strategy for the Super Falcons, following a challenging Olympic campaign and the recent departure of coach Randy Waldrum.

Saturday’s opening match saw Captain Rasheedat Ajibade score twice, leading the Falcons to a 2-0 victory at the Remo Stars Training Complex, Ikenne.

Several homegrown players, including former U-17 standouts Miracle Usani, Chioma Olise, and Goodness Osigwe, were present and added depth to the team.

Algeria’s coach, Farid Benstiti, after the first-leg loss stated that his youthful side gained valuable experience in the first match, promising a more competitive showing on Tuesday.

“My girls have seen and learned a few lessons today. We will take those lessons and dig our feet in against the Falcons.”
