Nigeria forward, Vivian Ikechukwu, has completed her transfer to Mexican side Santa Laguna from Cruz Azul, marking a new chapter in her career.
After a stint with Cruz Azul, where she featured in 10 league matches, the former Rivers Angels player is excited about her move to join the Warriors.
Ikechukwu, who previously played for top clubs like Lithuania’s FC Gintra and Turkey’s Besiktas, expressed her joy at the switch.
“I felt very happy as I am going to become a warrior because I will be joining the warriors,” she told Santa Laguna’s media team at her unveiling.
The Lagos-born forward, who has also represented Nigeria at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), also shared her love for Mexico, noting her excitement about the country’s good communication and her passion for the Spanish language.
Ikechukwu joins fellow Super Falcons teammates Chinwendu Ihezuo and Osinachi Ohale in Mexico’s top flight.
