Nigeria and Houston Dash forward, Michelle Alozie has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 Houstonian of the Year award.
Alozie joins the list of nominees, including meteorologists Eric Berger & Matt Lanza, Texas State Senator Molly Cook, chef-owner Benchawan Jabthong Painter, and Chiqui Sanchez Kennedy, founder of the Galveston-Houston Immigrant Representation Project.
In addition to her football career, the Super Falcons striker is a research technician in pediatric oncology at Texas Children’s Hospital, balancing her commitment to both sports and science.
On the football field, Michelle Alozie helped the Super Falcons qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics—their first Olympic appearance since 2008.
Alozie was also involved in Nigeria’s journey to the Round of 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
