Super Falcons forward Ini Umotong has left her English Women’s Super League Side, Brighton, following the expiration of her contract.
The club made the announcement through their website that the gangling forward and the other two players are leaving at the end of their contract.
“Letting players go is never easy and there was a lot of discussion among all of the staff before we made what were extremely difficult decisions,” she told the club’s website.
“I would like to thank Kate, Amanda, Sophie, Fern, Ini, and Maxime for their commitment, dedication and hard work during their time here at Brighton.
“They have always been totally professional and great teammates. We wish them well for the future and will, of course, support them if they decide to continue in the professional game.”
The 26-year-old joined Brighton in 2017 and scored 19 goals in 59, despite spending most of her time as a substitute.
She scored six goals last season, including the winner that sent her team to the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1994.
It would be recalled English FA on May 25, canceled the English Women Super league a few weeks after the suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.
