The Super Falcons secure their place in the upcoming African Women’s Championship, dominating Cape Verde with a 7-1 aggregate victory.
The reigning champions of the tournament proved to be too much on the pitch for their opponents, clinching a decisive 2-1 victory against Cape Verde at the Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde in Praia on Tuesday.
This triumph followed their outstanding 5-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja last Thursday.
Monday Gift, a key player in the qualification journey, expressed her joy and gratitude on social media, underscoring the team’s commitment and achievement in securing a coveted spot in next year’s championship.
“Proud to have played a role in helping Team Nigeria secure qualification for the Morocco 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations.
“Teamwork makes the dream work, and we’re ready to reclaim our crown on the African stage” She posted.
The Super Falcons finished disappointing fourth in last edition in Morocco, although the team recover and to make an impressive at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Cup.
