Four players from Nigeria’s Super Falcons were honored with a place in the CAF FIFPro Best XI for 2024, a prestigious recognition at the CAF Awards held on Monday night in Marrakech, Morocco.
The players selected include Michelle Alozie, Osinachi Ohale, Rasheedat Ajibade, and Asisat Oshoala.
They were acknowledged for their standout performances on the international stage, showcasing Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
Michelle Alozie, who plays as a right-back, was named the Best Right-Back of the year. Alozie has been a key figure in both defense and attack for the Super Falcons, earning widespread praise for her consistent performances.
Osinachi Ohale, a veteran defender, was selected as one of the two centre-backs in the Best XI. Her strong leadership and solid defensive skills have been instrumental for Nigeria at both the continental and international levels.
Rasheedat Ajibade, who plays for Atlético Madrid in Spain, was chosen as one of the midfielders.
Asisat Oshoala, who currently plays for Bay FC in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the U.S., was included in the forward line.
In addition to the Super Falcons players, other African stars, including players from South Africa and Morocco, also made the list, including Femsle Ppayer of the Year and Zambian forward, Barbra Banda.
